I spent a decade working as an independent college counselor in LA, guiding students of all backgrounds to top universities. But I quickly saw that what sets applications apart isn’t how much money the family has—it’s the family's openness to resilience, creativity, and self-awareness. As a former literature professor, writing teacher, and longtime college counselor, I’ve helped students get accepted to the world’s most prestigious schools—Harvard, Stanford, Brown, and beyond. But what really drives me? Helping students find their own voice and vision.
My unlikely educational journey began with Christian video-tape school (yep) and (improbably) led to studying at Stanford, Oxford, St. John’s College, and a PhD in English from USC. I found my calling working one-on-one with gifted, curious, and sometimes struggling students.
